Unemployment benefits are taxable income. If you received unemployment, your tax statement is called Form 1099-G, not form W-2.View and print your current or previous year 1099-G tax forms on your Claimant Portal:

After you are logged on, you can also request or discontinue federal and state income tax withholding from each unemployment benefit payment. The federal withholding is 10% of the weekly amount payable, and the state withholding is 5% of the weekly amount payable.
If you receive a 1099-G for benefits you did not file for, please let the department know immediately, as this could be a case of identity fraud.
