Employees and contractors that are subject to the FTI background check are notified by their management and DWD HR. New hires will be instructed to complete this background check during the hire process.

Internal Revenue Service Publication 1075, Tax Information Security Guidelines for Federal, State, and Local Agencies (Sept. 2016 rev.) (Publication 1075) is the document that provides guidance on securing IRS data for those agencies receiving federal tax return data from the IRS. Publication 1075 requires a background investigation be conducted and favorably adjudicated before an employee or contractor is allowed to access Federal Tax Information (FTI).

Federal Tax Information (FTI) consisting of federal tax returns and return information (and information derived from it). FTI also includes any information created by the recipient that is derived from federal return or return information received from the IRS or obtained through a secondary source, such as a database like Suites.

Your position has access to FTI and in order to keep this access the IRS requires that an FTI Background Check be completed to ensure you don't have any pending arrests or past convictions substantially related to the duties of your position. The FTI Background Check includes an FBI background check and a local background check. State legislation, effective October 1, 2018, was necessary before DWD could implement Publication 1075 background investigation requirements.

If you work in a position that has access to FTI, you will need to complete an FTI background check every 10 years. If you are hired into another position that does have access to FTI, you will have to complete an FTI background check again.

The appointment of new hires will be made after the completion of the FTI background check. For existing employees and contractors that are working through this process, you will continue to be able to access FTI until the FTI background check has been completed. Reminder, you must schedule and complete your appointment with FieldPrint for the FTI background check no later than December 21, 2018.

The date and location information that appears in the registration email for employees and contractors registering for the onsite event is not correct. This information is only used as a placeholder for FieldPrint and could say any date in the future.

Please refer to the time you scheduled in Eventbrite for the correct information on your appointment time and location.

Remember, as you set up the account, do not use logins or passwords that you use for any other accounts, including your DWD account.

If you think you have registered twice, log back into your account and verify that you have only one appointment. If you have two, you should be able to cancel. If not contact the FieldPrint Customer Service at customerservice@fieldprint.com or by phone at (877) 614-4364.

Refer to the confirmation email that you received from Eventbrite. Within that email is a "View and manage" link that should allow you to change the time. You will need to create an account and sign in to Eventbrite to make any changes.

If you have problems, please contact Stacia Jankowski to help resolve issues within Eventbrite.
