UI Modernization - Employer Portal Project

New UI Employer Portal coming in August!

The new UI Employer Portal will retain existing functionality while incorporating enhanced features employers need to maintain efficiency and flexibility.

UI Employer Portal will be released after the July tax filing deadlines to ensure no disruptions with employers using the system and to give employers additional time to sign up for MyWisconsin ID.

Beginning in August, there are two planned releases. First, the UI Employer Portal will get a new look and feel, and will require a MyWisconsin ID account for logging in. This change will not take effect until August, after you've filed your July Tax & Wage Reports.

In September, the UI Employer Portal will introduce new features, including secure messaging, electronic forms (or "eForms"), secure electronic communication and notifications, and appeal options!

Check back often for the latest updates on the Employer Portal project!

MyWisconsin ID At-A-Glance

Until the change to MyWisconsin ID this August, continue to log in to your UI Employer Account using your existing username and password (through July's Tax & Wage Reports).

MyWisconsin ID is the State of Wisconsin's way to securely access state services using a single user ID and password.

All Wisconsin employers will need a MyWisconsin ID account to access the UI Employer Portal starting this August! This means a MyWisconsin ID account will be needed when filing future quarterly Tax & Wage Reports.

Even though you will use your existing Employer Account to file the July taxes, you can take steps now to be ready for the transition to MyWisconsin ID in August:

  1. Create your MyWisconsin ID at https://apps.wisconsin.gov using your work email address.

    • Keep your work and personal matters separate - you may need to use MyWisconsin ID for personal matters while working or after leaving an employer.
    • If you already have MyWisconsin ID for work, you do not need to create a new one.
  2. Verify your email address.

  3. Set up your multi-factor authentication method using a work device, when possible.

    • Use work phones, security keys, or authentication apps.
  4. Keep track of your MyWisconsin ID login information. You will use it to access the UI Employer Portal when filing future Quarterly Tax & Wage Reports!

    • Use a strong, unique password. Your MyWisconsin ID account may have access to various state systems with sensitive information. Don’t use your MyWisconsin ID password elsewhere.

More information on how to transfer your employer UI accounts to your MyWisconsin ID coming soon.
