8.8.1 Overview

Effective date: July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026

Follow-up services must be made available through the Adult Program and the Dislocated Worker Program.1 Follow-up services help maintain and advance the participant's accomplishments and may provide a pathway back into the program.

Follow-up services must be made available to the Adult Program and the Dislocated Worker Program participants who are placed in unsubsidized employment, except for the underemployed, for at least twelve months following their first day of employment.2

Note: DWD-DET defines "placed" as any participant who begins unsubsidized employment. The participant is eligible for follow-up services for 12 months following the employment start date, even if the 12 months extends beyond the WIOA Performance indicator timeline of unsubsidized employment during the 4th quarter after exit.

Note: WIOA categorizes follow-up services as one of the fourteen Youth Program Elements for the Youth Program.3 Career planners can locate Guidance on Youth Program follow-up services in Chapter 10.5.3 Descriptions of the 14 Youth Program Elements.
