Certify Your Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Community-based organizations, non-profit organizations, technical colleges, and apprenticeship sponsors can contribute to developing a skilled workforce by providing certified pre-apprenticeships.

  1. Review what distinguishes a certified pre-apprenticeship.

A certified pre-apprenticeship has been determined by Wisconsin Apprenticeship to be a program or set of strategies that does the following:

    1. Prepares participants with skills, competencies, and support to enter a registered apprenticeship.
    2. Has a documented partnership with at least one registered apprenticeship sponsor.
    3. Incorporates seven required components, explained in the Program Guide.
  2. Submit your application.

    1. Complete the certified pre-apprenticeship application.
    2. Gather the additional documents listed in the Program Guide.
  3. If you're application is approved, review how your pre-apprenticeship will be reviewed in the future.

Certified pre-apprenticeship programs are reviewed within one year after the first cohort completes. Subsequent reviews occur biennially.
